When I look at Progressives in the political sense, I look at people in how they feel about progress and do they believe in it or not. Or do they believe that things are as good as they're going to be and by trying to make life and the country better, you're just going to make things worst.
The first 8 letters in Progressive is progress. Progressives are Progressives because they believe in progress. Otherwise they would be Conservatives or belong to some other political faction. Barack Obama is one of our great Progressive President's simply because he was always trying to make American life better and so that more Americans could live in freedom. He wasn't the most successful politically, but his whole political career was about progress and the pragmatism that he brought to his political career made him very successful.
